The cricket fraternity wished the batting maestro on his birthday.

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is celebrating his 51st birthday on April 24. He is hailed as the greatest player to ever grace the game and this even got him the title of ‘God of Cricket’. Fans and people from the cricket fraternity also refer to him as the ‘master blaster’. He is the highest run-scorer in the history of cricket and has amassed 33,727 runs throughout his international career. He retired from cricket back in 2013 but his influence and legacy continue to inspire the future generation.

Sachin ended his ODI career with 18,426 in ODIs and his Test career with 15,921 runs. He lifted the World Cup trophy in 2011 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, fulfilling a lifetime dream. He achieved 100 international centuries of which 51 came in Tests and 49 in ODIs.

On his birthday, Sachin took to ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter) and posted a clip with his fans where he can be seen playing football with the kids as well. He also wrote a caption that reads.

“What a way to kick off my birthday week! I had so much fun playing football, sharing stories and cutting my birthday cake with these incredible girls who are supported by the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation. They were the first ones to wish me and it made my week truly special!”, Sachin Tweeted.

As the batting maestro turned 51, wishes poured on his social media spaces. His former India teammate Yuvraj Singh was among the first ones to post birthday wishes for Tendulkar.

“Sachin brings a lot of humbleness and humility towards himself and the game. Always helpful and always there for youngsters. Things were not going well for me. I always looked up to him and he always backed me and was there for me. Someone who has scored 100 centuries, of that level, it is very hard for you to connect with them, because he is like a god to you. To connect with that person and be friends with him was a dream come true for me,” India’s World Cup-winning all-rounder Yuvraj Singh tweeted.

The former Indian left-handed batter Suresh Raina also showered his wishes on Sachin by saying that his grace on and off the field continues to set a bar for players.

“Happy Birthday Paji, @sachin_rt! Your legendary career has inspired millions and your grace both on and off the field continues to set the bar. Wishing you health, happiness, and a year as splendid as your cover drives! #HappyBirthdaySachin,” tweeted Raina.
