Coinciding with the nation's Independence Day celebrations on Friday, star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant gave fans an inside look at the team's elation. The highlight of the video was a humorous exchange between Pant and his captain, Rohit Sharma. As Pant filmed Rohit walking with a souvenir stump, he playfully asked, "Bhaiya, ye stump leke kahaan jaa rahe ho?" (Brother, where are you going with this stump?).

Alluding to his retirement from T20Is after India's World Cup win in 2024, Rohit jokingly replied with a smile,

"Kya? Retirement le lu? Har baar jeetenge to har baar thodi retirement leta rahunga?" (What? Should I retire again? If we win every time, I can't keep retiring, can I?).

Pant laughed, responding, "Hum to chahte hain khelo" (We want you to keep playing).

After retiring from T20Is, Rohit called it quits to the Tests too and now his appearance is only limited to the ODIs. Rohit will next be seen in the upcoming ODI series against Australia and then South Africa. India will first play a three-match ODI series against Australia, which will start from October 19. Then will then take on South Africa for the three-match ODI outing, which will get underway from November 30.
