Indian batter Ishan Kishan discussed the development of his 'bromance' with teammate Shubman Gill. The two cricketers have formed a strong bond while representing the national team across various formats in the past couple of years.
Kishan, the record holder for the fastest double hundred in ODIs, said that his friendship with Gill grew as they began doing activities together. He emphasised that their camaraderie extends beyond the cricket field, emphasising that they are also close friends off the field.

"Me and Gill are very good friends, and we care for each other as well. We became friends when teams like India A, India B and India C existed with high-performing players from various states. He was in my team, but I did not get to know when he came to sleep in my room," Kishan revealed on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), where Indian women's cricketer Smriti Mandhana was also present.
"So, what happened is, whenever we used to go on tour out of India, we used to go eating together and go everywhere together. From there, our friendship became deep. Our relation is not limited to cricket, but also off the field," he added.
Following his recognition as the captain of the Indian team in the U19 World Cup in 2016, Kishan secured his first IPL contract with Gujarat Titans (GT) in 2017. Thereafter, he joined the Mumbai Indians (MI), playing under the leadership of Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard.
In Gill's case, he earned the title of ‘Player of the Tournament’ in the U19 World Cup in New Zealand in 2018. Following this achievement, he secured his first IPL contract with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) before making a move to the GT.
Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batter Kishan won't be participating in the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa scheduled to commence on December 26. He opted out of the series, citing "personal reasons."
Although the BCCI did not disclose the specific cause for Kishan's withdrawal, the Indian Express has reported that the decision was influenced by "mental fatigue," primarily stemming from continuous travel during tours.
