Highlights:

Yashasvi Jaiswal's rise comes on the back of an outstanding Test series performance against England.

Emerging wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel has also seen a rise in his rankings.

In the latest ICC Test rankings for batters, young Indian sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal has made significant strides, climbing to the 12th spot and surpassing his captain Rohit Sharma, who now sits at the 13th position. Jaiswal's rise comes on the back of an outstanding Test series performance against England, where he amassed an impressive 655 runs across four matches.

His scoring spree included two half-centuries and two monumental double centuries, with scores of 209 in Vizag and 214 in Rajkot, the latter featuring 12 sixes. This remarkable achievement has seen Jaiswal match Virat Kohli's record for the most runs scored against England in a Test series.

Virat Kohli continues to be the top-ranked Indian Test batter

Despite not participating in the series against England due to paternity leave, Virat Kohli remains the top-ranked Indian batter in Test cricket, although he has slipped two places to ninth.

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill's consistent contributions throughout the series have seen him ascend four positions to number 31. Gill's tally of 342 runs, including two half-centuries and a century, has solidified his role as India's reliable number three, dispelling earlier doubts about his place in the Test lineup. His composed 52-run inning in the fourth Test in Ranchi was instrumental in securing the series for India.

Dhruv Jurel was duly awarded

Emerging wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel has also seen a rise in his rankings, reaching the 69th position after being named player of the match in the fourth Test for his crucial knocks of 90 and 39.
