The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the updated schedule for the upcoming edition of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024. The mega tournament which was earlier set to held in Bangladesh was later moved to UAE due to the civil unrest in the country. However, Bangladesh would continue to act as the host of this marquee event. The tournament would start on October 3 with the clash between the hosts and Scotland in Sharjah. India will be in action on the second day of the tournament as they take on New Zealand in their opening game which will take place in Dubai.
India's first three games against New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka will be held in Dubai. They will only play in Sharjah for their final group game against the defending champions Australia. India will play their arch-rivals Pakistan on 6 October and if they manage to qualify for the semi-finals, they will be playing the first semi-final in Dubai.
A total of 23 matches will be played across two venues in Dubai and Sharjah between 10 teams. There will also be 10 warm-up matches before the beginning of the actual tournament tournament. They will take place from 28 September through to 1 October. Each team will play a total of four group matches and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.
