India’s batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi batted in his typical fashion in the first of the three youth ODIs at Ian Healy Oval, Brisbane on September 21. Suryavanshi contributed with a cameo of 22-ball 38 in the run chase, featuring a six that went outside the park.
In the run chase of 226, Suryavanshi started with a boundary towards extra cover. In the third over, he took on Hayden Schiller again, hitting him for three fours. A few words were exchanged between Suryavanshi and Schiller in-between overs. Charles Lachmund faced Suryavanshi's wrath in the next over. He bowled a short delivery and Suryavanshi hit it over deep fine leg for a maximum. The ball bounced and went to the road. He followed it up with two fours. Lachmund ended up conceding 22 runs in the fourth over of the innings.

Schiller had the last laugh against Suryavanshi. On the last ball of the fifth over, he bowled a short ball that hurried on to the southpaw. He went for an aerial shot and was caught by Aryan Sharma inside the 30-yard circle. His knock of 38 off 22 deliveries featured seven fours and a six.
Meanwhile, skipper Mhatre could not contribute much with the bat. He played a flick towards deep backward square leg where Tom Hogan caught him. He scored six runs from 10 balls, including one four. India lost both their openers for 50 in 5.2 overs.
Australia lose early wickets, James prevents from getting bowled out
Earlier, Australia Under-19 skipper Will Malajczuk won the toss and opted to bat first. Kishan Kumar struck twice in the first over of the innings, dismissing openers Alex Turner and Simon Budge for ducks. The hosts kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They lost half the side for 90 in the 26th over. It was John James' unbeaten 68-ball 77 that took Australia Under-19 to a respectable total of 225/9.
For India, Henil Patel took three wickets for 38 runs whereas Kishan and Kanishk Chouhan got two wickets apiece. RS Ambrish got one wicket as well.
