India speedster Mayank Yadav takes wicket with first ball on DPL debut

India's rising young speedster Mayank Yadav made an instant impact on his Delhi Premier League debut by clinching a wicket on the very first ball of his spell for the East Delhi Riders. The memorable moment came during the competition's second game against the South Delhi Superstarz on Saturday, August 1.

Bowling with the new ball in the second innings, Mayank Yadav managed to create an instant impact with his first delivery. The India pacer bowled a full toss outside off stump, prompting South Delhi Superstarz opener Sanat Sangwan to play a cover drive shot. However, the batter produced an inside edge, with the ball crashing back into the stumps for an early dismissal.

Mayank Yadav recorded an economical spell for the East Delhi Riders, returning figures of 1/23 in his three overs. Despite his disciplined performance, the Riders ended up on the losing side as the South Delhi Superstarz easily chased down a target of 166 to record a four-wicket win.

South Delhi Superstarz chased down the target in just 19 overs, as Anmol Sharma played a match-winning knock of 64 off just 36 balls, hitting eight fours and two sixes to guide his side to a comfortable four-wicket win.

Earlier in the game, East Delhi Riders enjoyed a blistering knock from Arpit Rana, who top scored with 66 off just 39 balls, consisting of six fours and three sixes. However, the rest of the batting attack failed to build on his effort, and the side was bundled out for 165 inside 19 overs. For South Delhi Supertarz, Anshuman Hooda starred with the ball, recording outstanding figures of 5/24 in under four overs.

Mayan enjoyed a fine individual outing in India's recent three-game T20I series against Zimbabwe in Harare, marking a great comeback to international cricket. The express pace played a big role in India's 3-0 series sweep.
