Needed to be smart, was just backing myself to do. You got to understand that bowlers are smart, they are not going to bowl into the breeze. I was thinking to hit everything that was possible. You can access all sides of the field, that is what I was trying to do. It has been a good wicket and you need to back yourself on good wickets, glad that it came off today. I told you that 50s and 100s don't matter to me. Need to put the bowlers under pressure, and you need big scores for that. I tried to access all sides of the field, not just one side.

After playing on a surface where Australian batters struggled, the Mitchell Marsh-led side returns to St Lucia where they had chased down the target of 181 against Scotland. Ahead of the must-win game for Australia, St Lucia pitch curator has an advice for team management of both sides. The curator feels that having an extra pacer in the lineup is the right call to make. 
   

  "It gets drier in a day game when the sun is out, it would be a good game tomorrow. Here we don't get much spin. We get nice bounce but not a lot of spin on this black soil pitch. I would play an extra pacer. The surface is more suited to the pacers and has consistent pace and bounce. Bowlers will need to bowl well else they get punished," a member of the groundstaff told PTI.

  Indian skipper Rohit Sharma replaced Mohammed Siraj with left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav for group stages.   However, even then, India aren't completely out. Their fate would rest on the outcome of the Afghanistan-Bangladesh match. If Bangladesh wins, India goes through regardless of Australia's NRR. But if Afghanistan wins, India needs them to win by a small margin that doesn't push their NRR above India's. In this case, India would grab the second spot and face South Africa in the semi-final. So, while a win against Australia is ideal, India has a slight buffer thanks to their current NRR.
