Winless Pakistan have been knocked out of the ICC Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025. In a rain-curtailed affair, Ireland won by 13 runs as per DLS method to register their only group stage win of the tournament. After their clash against USA was washed out due to rain, Pakistan lost to England and Ireland respectively as they failed to make it to the Super Six stage.

Ireland lose momentum after opener's onslaught

Ireland captain Niamh MacNulty won the toss and opted to bat first. Alice Walsh got them off to a good start. After Freya Sargent's wicket, Walsh in the fourth over went berserk and hit Fatima Khan for four consecutive fours. In the next over, Rebecca Lowe was run out for a single-digit score. The boundaries dried up and Quratulain Ahsen dismissed Walsh. The opener scored 31 runs from 19 balls. 

No boundaries were scored after the opener's wicket. In the final over, Abbi Harrison and Lara McBride were dismissed off consecutive deliveries. Ireland managed to post 69/5. Annabel Squires remained unbeaten for a run-a-ball 13. The revised DLS target for Pakistan was 73.

Pakistan fail to accelerate

Pakistan's run chase got off to an ideal start with 12 runs in the first over. Freya was introduced into the attack. Fatima was the first to fall in the run chase as she was run out. In the same over, Freya knocked over Zoofishan Ayyaz. After an economical over, two more Pakistan batters were run out. Minahil returned to the pavillion after mix-up with Komal. In the same over, Komal was run out too.

In the sixth over, Ravail Farhan got bowled by Ellie McGee. The required run rate went up and Areesha Ansari gave in to the pressure as well as she became Ellie's second victim of the day.In the final over, Pakistan needed 21 runs to win. Tayyba Imdad hit a boundary first ball and then got bowled by Lara McBride. In the last four balls, only two runs were scored. Pakistan managed to post 59/7 and lost the match by 13 runs.

Ireland in Super Six, Pakistan to play one more match

Ireland have made it to the Group 2 of the Super Six stage. They will face South Africa in their next game. On the other hand, Pakistan will go up against Samoa for 13th place play-off 1 match.
