Ivory Coast recorded lowest T20I total after getting bowled out for 7 runs in T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifier

Nigeria crushed Ivory Coast by 264 runs after posting a colossal total of 271/4

Ivory Coast registered the lowest total ever in the T20I International cricket after getting bowled out for a paltry seven runs in the T20 World Cup Qualifier match. Nigeria continued their dominance in the T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifier, this time in the Group C match against Ivory Coast on Sunday, November 24. They left the cricketing world stunned after securing a resounding 264-run victory over Ivory Coast, setting a new record for the largest margin of win in men's T20 international cricket.

Ivory Coast bowled out for 7 runs to record lowest T20I total

The highlight of the match was Nigeria's explosive batting display. Selim Salau led the charge with a breathtaking knock of 112 runs off just 53 balls, including 13 fours and two sixes. He was ably supported by Sulaimon Runsewe and Isaac Okpe, who both scored half-centuries. Notably, Nigeria's total of 271/4 is the highest score of the tournament so far.

On the other hand, Ivory Coast's batting performance was dismal. They were bowled out for a mere seven runs, shattering the previous record for the lowest-ever score in men's T20 international cricket.

Ivory Coast's batting performance in response to Nigeria's colossal total was nothing short of a nightmare for them. Opener Ouattara Mohamed was Ivory Coast's top scorer with four runs. The remaining batters struggled immensely, with six of them dismissed for ducks. The entire team was bowled out for a meager seven runs in a mere 7.3 overs.

Left-arm spinner Isaac Danladi and pacer Prosper Useni were the bowlers who caused Ivory Coast's batting collapse, each claiming three wickets. Peter Aho and Sylvester Okpe also contributed to the Nigeria's massive win.

Ivory Coast's recent performance has been deeply disappointing. Following their humiliating defeat to Sierra Leone, where they were bowled out for a mere 21 runs, their latest loss to Nigeria further highlights their struggles. These consecutive defeats have firmly placed them at the bottom of the six-team standings.

In contrast, Nigeria's consistent performances have propelled them to the top of the table.
