James Vince on his performance

After winning Player of the Match, James Vince gave his batting partner Khusdhil Shah kudos for their vital partnership during the post-match ceremony. He added that he felt comfortable playing his natural game because the pitch was batting-friendly. He disclosed that he intended to anchor the chase and remain at the crease until the very end to make sure the squad crossed the finish line without incident.

“Quite a tough chase, but when we batted we realised how nice a surface this was. Luckily, whenever we needed a boundary we found it. The way Khushdil batted was also great. When the rate gets beyond 15-16, the game gets away from you at any game. So the way Khushdil attacked CJ when the rate was climbing was amazing. I did the hard work so would have been nice to stay till the end, but we bat quite deep and that helps in chases like this,” said Vince

The Sultans took advantage of Karachi's decision to field after winning the toss, as captain Mohammad Rizwan scored an undefeated 105 off 63 balls. They were driven to 234/3 by Michael Bracewell (44 off 17) and Kamran Ghulam (36 off 19). In response, Khushdil's 60 off 37 and Vince's incredible 101 off just 43 balls helped Karachi's chase get off to a slow start. In a thrilling last over, Karachi prevailed by 4 wickets despite Akif Javed taking 3 wickets for Multan.
