India's left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed made his County debut for Essex against Yorkshire in the ongoing County Championship Division One 2025. On Day 1, Khaleel stayed in the dressing room. But, on Day 2, Khaleel could not get a wicket from the nine overs he bowled and gave away too many extras in the form of no-balls.

In the 135th over of Essex's innings, Khaleel walked in to bat at no.11. On the first ball he faced, he had no qualms. Off-spinner Dom Bess, who has been absent for England's Test side for four years, pitched it up and was hit for a four over mid-wicket. However, he could not add more to Essex's score. In the next over, he got bowled by Ben Coad. He faced a total of seven deliveries and scored four runs.

For Essex, Tom Westley scored 107 runs from 240 deliveries. Dean Elgar missed his century by just six runs. Nohan Thain's unbeaten 50 helped Essex post 368 on the board from 36 overs.
