West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves wreaked havoc on Day 3 of the first Test against Pakistan at Brian Lara Stadium. Greaves became first bowler in 146 years of Test cricket history to bowl five consecutive wicket-maidens. Pakistan looked all set to take a lead with Shan Masood scoring a century and Salman Agha on the other end. But, Greaves' record-breaking fifer led to Pakistan in a dominant position at 244/3 to 282 all out.

Before Greaves got his first wicket, Shamar Joseph broke the partnership with Agha's wicket. Agha got bowled by Joseph for a 60-ball 20. In the next over, Masood got an inside edge which crashed into the off-stump. He became Greaves' first victim of the day. After the former captain's 109-run knock, Aamer Jamal followed him to the dressing room soon. Jamal missed a full delivery and got bowled.
Ali Usman missed a delivery nipping back into the stumps. He got out lbw for a seven-ball duck. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan was the eighth wicket to fall. Without any footwork, he tried to play the ball square of the wicket and edged it to wicketkeeper Shai Hope. After the drinks break, Greaves continued. On the last ball of the 72nd over, Mohammad Abbas poked at a delivery away from the stumps. He got out caught behind for an eight-ball duck as Greaves completed a historic fifer, his first of Test career.
Pakistan were 267/9 after 72 overs. Khurram Shahzad and Mohammad Ali added crucial runs to the scoreboard. Greaves did not bowl another over after his record-breaking spell. As soon as the new ball was taken, Kemar Roach ended Shahzad's stay at the crease. He scored 19 runs from 36 balls. Pakistan were bowled out for 282 runs, trailing by 29 runs.
Pakistan make a comeback
Pakistan pacers staged a comeback. Abbas struck twice in the fifth over, dismissing Brandon King and Kavem Hodge. Then, Ali caught and bowled Amir Jangoo and Hope got bowled by Shahzad. Tagenarine Chanderpaul's resistance was ended by Jamal. The opener scored 35 runs from 101 balls. Greaves got a start but couldn't convert as he became Abbas' third scalp of the day. Shahzad was brought back into the attack and he delivered with captain Roston Chase's wicket.
Joseph launches sixes amid collapse
Towards the end of Day 3's play, Roach turned out on the defensive mode whereas Joseph launched a counter-attack. He hit Jamal for three sixes. He was unbeaten on 22 off 13 deliveries at the end of Day 3's play. West Indies have a 155-run lead in the bag with three wickets in hand. West Indies were 126/7 in 43 overs on a day where 14 wickets fell.
