'Loved every day being around you...': Yuzvendra Chahal writes emotional message for his Rajasthan Royals teammate

Indian Premier League (IPL) inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) released some of their huge stars before the upcoming mega auction for the marquee event. Two of their major release are England openers, Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal. The pair were instrumental in helping Rajasthan Royals reach the playoffs twice in three years, including a spot in the final during the 2022 season.RR retained Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer and Sandeep Sharma. 

Chahal shared a heartfelt message for Jos Buttler on social media, with both of their IPL futures now uncertain.


 

"In 2022 I knew him as Jos Buttler. In 2024, he's my Jos bhai," wrote Chahal.

 

"Loved every day being around you and only a few people know what you've done for me. Thank you for always standing by me. And hopefully, on some evening at 7.30 PM, we both will open the batting together ," Chahal continued.

Buttler was the  'Most Valuable Player' of the 2022 season when he slammed 863 runs including four centuries. Buttler suffered an inconsistent 2024, but still hit two more hundreds.

On the other hand, Chahal was RR's highest wicket-taker during the previous three seasons, he is also the highest wicket-taker in IPL history. Chahal scalped 27 wickets in 2022, and has picked up 18 or more wickets in every single season since 2019.

 

 

IPL 2025 mega auction is set to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This will be the second consecutive mega auction which will take place overseas. There will be 1,574 players going under the hammer where 1,165 are Indian and 409 overseas talents. Rajasthan Royals to enter the auction with the smallest purse of Rs 41 crore as they have retained six players they will not have any RTM options available during the auction.
