Indian left-arm spinner Manav Suthar orchestrated a masterclass in economy and precision for Warwickshire during their Division One County Championship encounter against Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens. The 26-year-old Rajasthan native completed a resounding victory by taking three wickets across the match without yielding a single run. His immaculate bowling performance capped off a thoroughly dominant team effort, as Warwickshire piled up 391 runs before skittling Glamorgan for paltry totals of 69 and 65 to seal an innings-and-257-run triumph.

Manav Suthar emulates 131-year-old record in County Championship clash

In doing so, Suthar matched an astonishing feat that had stood untouched for 131 years. By claiming wickets in both innings of a first-class match without conceding a run, he became just the second player in cricket history to achieve the rare double. The only other bowler to manage this was Englishman Tom Hayward, who registered three wickets across six scoreless deliveries playing for Leicestershire against Surrey back at The Oval in 1895.

Suthar’s historical feat unfolded through two vastly different spells during the match. In Glamorgan’s opening innings, he was brought on late and needed just three deliveries to wrap up the tail, dismissing number 11 batter Mir Hamza with his final ball. His workload expanded significantly in the second innings when he was introduced in the 24th over. After opening with a maiden over, Suthar struck twice in his subsequent over, removing wicketkeeper Chris Cooke and tailender Jamie McIlroy within a four-ball span while maintaining a completely spotless economy rate.
