10 players are under ACU scanner for match fixing in BPL.

Bangladesh Premier League are under the scanner after a report claimed about match-fixing in the mega event. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) identified eight matches in the tournament under suspicion of spot-fixing and match-fixing after getting anonymous tips and media reports.

As per Cricbuzz, 10 players are under the ACU scanner while they are also closely monitoring the activities of four franchises.

Out of the 10 cricketers under the ACU scanner, six have represented the Bangladesh national team, two are uncapped Bangladeshi players and two are foreign cricketers. Bangladesh's Champions Trophy captain Najmul Hossain Shanto's BPL franchise Fortune Barishal also comes in the list of reportedly suspected matches.

According to media reports, the eight suspected matches are: Fortune Barishal vs Rajshahi (January 6), Rangpur Riders vs Dhaka (January 7), Dhaka vs Sylhet (January 10), Rajshahi vs Dhaka (January 12), Chittagong vs Sylhet (January 13), Barishal vs Khulna Tigers (January 22), and Chittagong vs Sylhet.

BCB president Faruque Ahmed said that the board will take strict action against any cricketer found guilty of doing anything wrong in the Bangladesh Premier League.

"Look, I cannot make any official comment in this regard until the investigation is completed because there is a protocol that we need to follow," Faruque told Cricbuzz on Friday. "The whole list and the events that happen during the tournament are noted and the investigation is done later.

"If during the investigation something comes up, then you know the punishment is quite harsh, and if I find out something, their life will be quite different because I won't spare anyone guilty. The decision will be taken once and for all, and it will be exemplary."

This is not the first time BPL has been under the scanner for spot-fixing. In 2014, former Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful admitted to spot-fixing in BPL 2013 and was banned for eight years.
