In a shocking report that has come to light and has sent shockwaves across the cricket fraternity, former Australia star cricketer and commentator, Michael Slater was taken into police custody. According to a report in the Guardian, Slater was arrested with over a dozen charges including stalking and assault. According to the report, Slater, who is 54 years old, was arrested last Friday (April 12) from Noosa Heads at the Sunshine coast.

A total of 19 charges have been filed against the former Australian cricketer as per the case registered at the Maroochydore Magistrates Court in Queensland on April 15 (Monday). All the charges that have been filed are dated from December 5, 2023, to April 12 (Friday). The police finally took Slater into custody after repeated allegations of domestic violence.

Michael Slater's cricket career
Michael Slater was a solid batter for Australia during the late 90s and the early 2000s. He represented Australia in international cricket for eight years after marking his debut in 1993. While Slater's last Test for Australia came in 2001, the right-handed batter's last ODI match came in 1997.
Talking about Slater's numbers, he scored 5,312 runs in 74 matches at an average of 42.83. He smashed 14 centuries and 21 half-centuries in international red-ball cricket.
When it comes to ODIs, Slater scored 987 runs in 42 matches at an average of 24.07. He registered nine half-centuries in ODIs.
Overall in Frist-Class cricket, Slater scored 14,912 runs in 216 matches with the help of 36 centuries and 69 half-centuries.
