Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) embarks on a fresh chapter, announcing the appointment of the esteemed Mo Bobat as their Director of Cricket for the IPL 2024 season. Bobat, celebrated for his revolutionary role as Performance Director with the English Cricket Board (ECB) for over a decade, has been instrumental in redefining England's cricket prowess. Under his guidance, England has clinched prestigious titles including the T20I and ODI World Cups, and showcased a memorable Ashes performance.

At a youthful 40, Bobat’s association with the ECB stretches back 12 years, where since 2019, he's been steering their dominance in world cricket. His expertise lies not just in strategizing winning moves but in identifying and honing raw talent across all formats of the game.

RCB fans have another reason to be elated as Bobat reunites with RCB's head coach, Andy Flower. Their proven synergy, having previously collaborated for England, promises exciting times for the team and its supporters.

"We are delighted to welcome Mo Bobat as the Director of Cricket for RCB in the IPL. RCB has always focussed on a performance-oriented approach and creating a play culture that reflects its 'playbold' philosophy. Bobat has already proved what he can do in a similar role with England, and I believe, with expertise and years of experience, he will guide RCB to newer horizons and excellence," Prathmesh Mishra, Chief Commercial Officer, Diageo India and Chairman of RCB, said while talking about the appointment.

"The Position of Director of Cricket is an important position in the development of our long-term strategy of elite performance. We believe Mo has the knowledge & expertise to take us forward in this area," Rajesh V Menon, Vice President & Head of Royal Challengers Bangalore commented.
