The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has decided to honour three of its former captains by naming a lounge after each of them at the Wankhede Stadium. During the MCA’s Annual General Body meeting, it decided to name a lounge in respect of Sachin Tendulkar, Ajinkya Rahane and late Madhav Mantri.

MCA president Ajinkya Naik confirmed that a three-member sub-committee has been formed to finalise the specific areas. On the sidelines of MCA’s 87th AGM, Naik, as per a report in the Indian Express, said:
“We have decided to allocate a designated lounge for them. So we have appointed a three-man committee to decide which area we can dedicate to them.”
The resolution was unanimously adopted at the association’s 87th Annual General Meeting held in Mumbai on Friday. Lounges for Mantri and Rahane are expected to be located in the MCA Pavilion, while the Tendulkar lounge is likely to be situated near his statue in the Sachin Tendulkar Stand. The MCA has already named a stand in honour of Tendulkar as they plan to give him another tribute.
Mantri, a multiple Ranji Trophy-winning captain for Mumbai and the last Test cricketer to serve as MCA president, is being recognised posthumously. Rahane has led both Mumbai and India, while Tendulkar remains one of the sport’s most celebrated figures and a product of Mumbai cricket.
In a separate decision at the same meeting, the MCA resolved to increase its grassroots development corpus from ₹100 crore to ₹500 crore over the next 10 years to support clubs and facilities.
