Ajinkya Rahane has urged the national team to stick with its established top three for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan. What's shocking is that the former India batsman avoided including teenage opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

Rahane picks India’s Top 3 for Afghanistan T20Is, drops Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rahane said he wants the same combination that featured in the recent T20 World Cup as he doesn't want any changes. He said:
“I feel the top three should be the same that played in the World Cup.”
Rahane added:
“Samson has done well, but he got dropped after two or three bad innings. I want him to get another chance. Abhishek and Ishan also did well for us.”
Rahane feels Sooryavanshi still has time to be added in the Top 3, but for now, he doesn't want to change anyone to add the teenage sensation. He added:
“Vaibhav will get his opportunities, and his time will come. But for now, I feel the top three should be Samson, Abhishek, and Ishan.”
Sanju Samson has returned to the squad after being rested for the Zimbabwe series, during which the 15-year-old Sooryavanshi impressed with two half-centuries and was named Player of the Series. Sooryavanshi, who became India’s youngest international debutant against England in July, is now competing for a place in the side.
The series begins on 13 September at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, with further matches on 15 and 17 September. It forms part of India’s preparations ahead of the Asian Games later this month.
