Rishabh Pant speaks about stock markets, building businesses and giving back to his home state Uttarakhand

London/Mumbai, September 29: Speaking exclusively on The Business of Sport podcast in London, Rishabh Pant shared how he plans his investments, his knowledge of the stock markets, his interest in building businesses, and the Rishabh Pant Foundation.

“As you keep growing with time and exposure, you understand there is more to life,” Pant said. “Opening up my thought process about learning about businesses, learning about different interests in my life, family, friends, I think this is one vertical which has opened for me. For me, it’s very fascinating; I get to learn a lot.”

The 28-year-old has also taken a hands-on approach to understanding his finances, revealing that he has been taking classes and studying the stock market for several years.

“For me, the stock market is interesting on the management side. There is so much study that goes into investing in companies, and I’ve been studying a lot for a few years now, taking classes, learning about how to invest,” Pant said. “If you’re putting your hard-earned money somewhere, you have to feel that from inside.”

Pant is now looking beyond investing and towards creating businesses himself. He said he wants to explore different sectors and turn ideas into real businesses rather than simply remaining an investor.

“I’m opening myself up to different ventures, to start investing, creating opportunities, rather than just being a consumer all the time,” he said.

One area that has caught his attention is adventure sports, particularly in Uttarakhand, where he grew up. Pant said the idea remains at an early stage but that he sees opportunities in a state he believes has significant potential as an adventure sports destination.

“The idea is in the early stages, but I’m looking forward to doing a lot of things around it, starting from where I started my life: my birthplace, Uttarakhand,” he said.

Alongside his commercial ambitions, Pant is looking to bring greater structure to his philanthropic work through the Rishabh Pant Foundation. He said his foundation has so far supported people on an individual basis, including assistance with medical and educational needs, but he wants to develop a model that can reach more people.

“As of now, I want to put a structure so I can scale it up and help more people,” Pant said. “Especially my hometown, where I come from, the state of Uttarakhand, there’s so much in my heart that I want to give back, and I will start from there.”

Pant also sees an opportunity for athletes in India to move beyond traditional endorsement-led commercial relationships and create businesses and products of their own.

“I’m really open to working on that, because I want to keep adding stuff to my life rather than subtracting,” he said. “I really want to give some time to opening a business, discussing how an idea can turn into a real business, and getting the work done.”
