Shafali Verma and Renuka Singh made stunning gains on the latest ICC Rankings

Shafali and Renuka have been terrific in the T20I series vs Sri Lanka

Indian women cricketers Shafali Verma and Renuka Singh Thakur made massive gains on the latest ICC T20I Rankings. This comes after the two have given standout performances in the ongoing T20I series against Sri Lanka. While Shafali has been terrific with the bat, Renuka has been fabulous with the ball.

Shafali climbed four places and ended up at the sixth place in the T20I batter rankings after scoring three consecutive half-centuries in the Sri Lanka series. On the other hand, Renuka rose eight places to end up at the No.7 spot in the T20I bowler rankings. Notably, the pacer had replaced Arundhati Reddy in the playing XI in the third T20I and went on to record figures of 4/21, helping India win the match comfortably by eight wickets.

Shafali's stellar performance vs Sri Lanka

Shafali has arguably been India's top performer in the series against Sri Lanka. After being dismissed for nine runs in the first T20I, the batter went on to play a match-winning knock of 69* in the second game as the Women in Blue won by 7 wickets. She followed that up by playing another unbeaten knock of 79 in the third T20I as the hosts sealed the series with an 8-wicket win.

Finally, Shafali continued her blistering form in the fourth T20I as well and played a phenomenal inning of 79 as India posted a humongous total of 221/2 on the board that Sri Lanka failed to chase. She will be aiming to end the year on a high by scoring big again in the fifth and final T20I that will be played on December 30.

Ghosh and Charani also rise

On the other hand, Richa Ghosh and Sree Charani also climbed on the rankings after their great performance against Sri Lanka. While Ghosh jumped seven places to end up at the 20th spot after her unbeaten knock of 40 in the fourth T20I, Charani climbed 17 places to reach the 52nd position after racking up four scalps in the series.

Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. have been totally dominant in the series so far and will be looking to maintain their form in the upcoming game as well.
