Dahani replied with Ali's wicket in last-over thriller in Multan.

In Pakistan's National Champions Cup 2026 fixture, Hasan Ali paid the price for mocking Shahnawaz Dahani's celebration style. In the final over, Pakistan Blues needed seven runs from last three balls against Pakistan Whites. Ali went for the shot aerial shot and was caught by wicketkeeper Usman Khan which led to a wild celebration from Dahani who ran outside the ground after Pakistan Whites' six-run win.

Ali mocks Dahani

Ali added fuel to the fire when he knocked over Dahani for a golden duck on the third ball of the final over. The tailender became Ali's only victim of the evening in Multan. Ali tried to copy Dahani’s celebrations and crossed the banter line. Despite opener Shahzaib Khan's 71, Saim Ayub-led Pakistan Whites were bowled out for 245.

Ali arrived at the crease when Pakistan Blues were 198/7, needing 48 more runs to win from 45 balls. Ahmed Daniyal and Sufyan Moqim fell as Mohammad Wasim completed his five-wicket haul.

How Dahani got his revenge

When the ninth wicket fell, Pakistan Blues needed 29 more runs to win from four overs. In the last over, Pakistan Blues needed 16 runs to win. On the first two balls bowled by Dahani, Ali hit two boundaries. After a dot ball, Ali went for the big shot again and lost his wicket for a 28-ball 29. Dahani remembered what Ali had done in the first innings. He started running and crossed the boundary to celebrate with fans. Wasim Jr. brought him back for the customary post-match handshakes.

Dahani ended up getting a four-wicket haul. He conceded 43 runs from 9.4 overs. However, Wasim was named 'Player of the match' for the five-wicket haul. He had also contributed with a 21-run knock at no.9, taking Pakistan Whites close to the 250-run mark.

This was Dahani's List A career's second four-fer. He is five wickets away from completing 100 wickets in the format.

Pakistan Blues on top

The win helped Pakistan Blues rise to the second place on the points table. Meanwhile, Pakistan Whites are placed third with one win from two games. Both Pakistan Blues and Whites have one match remaining in the league stage. The final will be played on August 18 in Multan.
