Cricket South Africa (CSA) on May 26 announced their T20I and ODI squad led by Laura Wolvaardt for the women's team's white-ball tour of West Indies. Ahead of Women's ODI World Cup 2025, all-rounder Marizanne Kapp has returned to the squad. She was rested for the tri-series in Sri Lanka after the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025. Her last appearance in competitive cricket was in WPL 2025 final for Delhi Capitals (DC) against Mumbai Indians (MI).
In addition to Kapp, pacers Tumi Sekhukhune and Ayanda Hlubi have returned to the squad as well. Leg-spinner Seshnie Naidi and batter Lara Goodall have been dropped from the side. Also, Anneke Bosch continues to be out of the squad after she was ruled out of the tri-series in Sri Lanka due to illness.
Young spin-bowling all-rounder Miane Smit is set to make her T20I debut. She made her maiden ODI appearance against India earlier this month.
Head coach Mandla Mashimbyi admitted that the Sri Lanka tour was tough. He wants to fix the issues ahead of ODI World Cup 2025.
"Sri Lanka was tough, but we took a lot of positives out of that, and whatever gaps we've picked up, we want to make sure that we brush up on them," he said in a statement.
"I'm looking forward to that, and the players have been working to make sure that they prepare well for the Caribbean tour. It's an exciting white-ball tour ahead in the West Indies, and a fantastic opportunity for the players to continue testing their skills. The more cricket we play, the more we learn about our combinations and individual growth as a team."
The ODI series will begin on June 11. All three ODIs will be played at Three Ws Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados. The three-T20I series which will commence on June 20 is scheduled to take place at the same venue as well.
