Former India cricketer Yograj Singh expressed his satisfaction with Rohit Sharma's declaration that he would not be leaving the ODI format. Speaking to ANI, Yograj stated that both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should focus on the 2027 ODI World Cup and invest their energies on how to win that event.

Under Rohit Sharma, India has dominated ICC competitions, winning the Champions Trophy and the T20 World Cup without losing a match. In the ODI World Cup 2023, India reached the final without losing a single match as well, but lost to Australia on November 19.
"The best thing is that Rohit Sharma said he is not retiring. Well done, my son. Nobody can retire Rohit and Virat. They should think about retirement after winning the 2027 ODI World Cup. I had said this before India would win," Yograj told ANI.
The current fitness scandal, in which Rohit was body-shamed by certain fans on social media, was also discussed by Yuvraj Singh's father. Yograj blasted the detractors, saying that before posing questions about Rohit, individuals like Congress leader Shama Mohamed should demonstrate their suitability.
