India to tour England for five Tests

On June 20, India will play the first match of their five-Test series in England at Headingley in Leeds. On July 2, the second Test at Edgbaston is scheduled to start. Leeds, Birmingham, London (Lord's), Manchester, and London (The Oval) will host games for the remaining series from June 20 to August 4.

In recent years, India and England have produced some exciting cricket matches. During their 2021 visit, India crushed England, taking a 2-1 lead after winning both of the London Tests. The Covid-19 outbreak, however, caused the fifth Test, which was supposed to be held in Manchester, to be postponed.

In July 2022, the rescheduled Test was finally held in Edgbaston, Birmingham. With seven wickets remaining and the hosts chasing a 378-run total, India lost the match despite having a fantastic chance to win the Test series in England. India's aspirations were dashed by an undefeated 269-run partnership between Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow, who scored hundreds in the Test.

In place of full-time captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah led India in the postponed Test. In January 2022, Virat Kohli, who captained India on the 2021 tour, resigned as Test captain. India will begin a new World Test Championship cycle next year when they visit England for the first time since the 2022 Test. It will be interesting to see if the squad sees the inclusion of seasoned players like Ravindra Jadeja, R. Ashwin, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma
