Uma Chetry puts up a fight but India A lose unofficial Test to Australia A by 45 runs as Minnu Mani's 11-wicket haul goes in vain

India A did not surrender to Australia A on Day 4 of the unofficial Test but Tess Flintoff's double strike helped the hosts win by 47 runs.

On Day 4 of the unofficial Test, wicketkeeper-batter Uma Chetry, Raghvi Bist and Sayali Satghare showed some promise but the visitors ended up losing by 45 runs. Tess Flintoff's double strike kept India A at bay after they put up a spirited fight in the run chase of 289.
 

At the end of Day 3's play, India A had four wickets in hand and 140 more runs to win the only four-day game of the tour. They started well with Uma doing the bulk of the scoring while Raghvi held on to one end. They shared a 79-run partnership for the seventh wicket. 
 

The partnership was broken by Flintoff in the 83rd over of the innings. In the same over, she knocked over Raghvi as well. Uma missed her half-century as she was dismissed for 47 runs from 80 balls. Raghvi faced 102 balls to score 26 runs.

Minnu takes 11 wickets, Maddy hits century

Mannat Kashyap could not stay at the crease for long and lost her wicket to Maitlan Brown. She scored just a single run from six balls. Sayali and Priya Mishra delayed the inevitable for a while. They shared a 24-run partnership for the 10th wicket before Sayali got out caught and bowled by Charli Knott. She scored 21 runs from 36 balls including two fours and a six.

Earlier, captain Minnu Mani's five-wicket haul and Priya's four-fer helped India A bowl out the hosts for 212 in first innings despite opener Georgia Voll's 95-ball 71. Kate Peterson starred for Australia A taking a fifer for just 16 runs. India A were bowled out for 184 as the hosts took a 28-run lead. 
 

Minnu bagged a six-wicket haul in the second innings but Emma de Broughe's half-century and wicketkeeper-batter Maddy Darke's unbeaten 105 helped Australia A post 260 on the board and set a target of 289.
 

Only one win on tour

With a 45-run loss, India A’s tour of Australia came to a conclusion. The only win India A registered was in the third One-Day game where Priya's fifer helped the visitors bowl out Australia A by 72 and win by 171 runs.
