India’s teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had an underwhelming start to the tri-nation series on Sri Lanka soil after receiving maiden call-up for T20Is. Sooryavanshi had started with a boundary against Mohamed Shiraz on the first ball he faced. He hit another boundary in Shiraz's first over. In the fourth over, Shiraz had the last laugh. The young opener went for an attacking shot but was caught at mid-off fielder Sahan Arachchige. He departed after scoring 14 runs from 12 deliveries, including three fours.
In the next over, his opening partner Prabhsimran Singh was dismissed for just two runs from 11 deliveries by Chamika Karunaratne. India A lost both their openers for 16 in 4.1 overs.

Earlier, Tilak Varma won the toss and opted to bat first.
“We want to bat first. Pitch looks to be around the dry side so we want to bat. 270 should be a good score,” he said at the coin toss.
