India U19 recorded a series sweep against South Africa U19

Skipper Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Aaron George and Kishan Kumar Singh proved to be India U19's top performers as they handed a 233-run drubbing to South Africa U19 on Wednesday in the third and final youth ODI. The victory saw them clean sweep the series by 3-0 and continue their superb form heading into the U19 World Cup that will commence from January 15.

George and Suryavanshi's huge stand

After being invited to bat first, the Men in Blue made a stellar start thanks to the opening duo of George and Suryavanshi..The duo formed a mammoth partnership of 227 runs as the visitors pushed the hosts totally to the back-foot. Both George and Suryavanshi dominated and eventually went on to register hundreds.

While George played a sensible inning, Suryavanshi batted in explosive fashion and reached triple figures after facing just 63 deliveries. The 14-year-old would eventually depart for 127 runs in the 26th over after hitting 9 boundaries and 10 towering sixes. George would lose his wicket for 118 runs in the 35th over as India went down to 279/2. The likes of Vedant Trivedi (34), Abhigyan Kundu (21), Mohammad Enaan (28*) and Henil Patel (19*) played impactful cameos as they posted a mammoth total of 393/7 in 50 overs.

India's bowling attack delivers

In reply, South Africa batters struggled from the get-go as both Kishan and Henil bowled fiery opening spells. The former took two wickets in the third over before the latter dismissed skipper Muhammed Bulbulia in the very next over. Kishan clinched another wicket in the fifth over to leave the Proteas reeling on 15/4 at one stage.

With their top-order decimated in the opening five overs, South Africa weren't able to get back into the game as none of their remaining batters turned up either. The likes of Daniel Bosman (40), Paul James (41) and Corne Botha (36*) played decent cameos, but weren't able to even come close to India's total and eventually got bowled out for just 160 runs. It proved to be an abysmal all-round display from the hosts as they got whitewashed  by India in comprehensive fashion.

Suryavanshi was adjudged as both Player of the Match and Player of the Series as he continued his blistering form ahead of the U19 World Cup. He scored a total of 196 runs in the assignment, including a century and half-century each and proved to be a key player as they swept the series.
