India's World Cup winning stars Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh paid tribute to legendary Bollywood actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar who died on March 4 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. He was 87. As per the medical reports, the reason behind the legendary actor's death was cardiogenic shock resulting from an acute myocardial infarction, a severe heart attack.
The reports also indicated that he had been struggling with decompensated liver cirrhosis in recent months, which had worsened his health.
Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh took their 'X', formerly known as Twitter to to offer their condolences for the legendary actor.
"An entire generation understood the essence of patriotism through the craft of Manoj Kumar ji. He was a towering presence in Indian cinema. My deepest condolences to his family and fans. Om shanti," wrote Yuvraj Singh.
The veteran actor was admitted to the hospital on February 21, 2025, when his health deteriorated.
Dr Santosh Shetty, CEO and Executive Director at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, said in a official statement, “Veteran actor Shri Manoj Kumarji passed away peacefully at the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital early this morning at around 3:30 AM, due to age-related health issues. He had been hospitalized for the past few weeks.”
