Afghanistan star all-rounder Rashid Khan who was recently involved in the ODI series against South Africa tied the knot in Kabul. The Afghan star, often regarded as the top T20I spinner in the world, celebrated his wedding according to Pashtun customs. Many cricketers from the Afghanistan national team were in attendance, and photos and videos from the event generated a significant buzz on social media.
The wedding took place at the Imperial Continental hotel in Kabul. There was heavy security outside the hotel where Rashid's wedding took place. Clip of the venue goes viral, here is the video.
Fellow cricketers took their social media to extend greetings to Rashid. Mohammad Nabi, one of the veterans in the Afghanistan team, was among the first ones to congratulate Rashid on his wedding.
"Congratulations to the one and only King Khan, Rashid Khan, on your wedding! Wishing you a lifetime of love, happiness, and success ahead. @rashidkhan_19," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Rashid Khan has so far picked up 34 wickets in five Test matches for Afghanistan and 190 wickets in 105 ODIs. Apart from this, he has 152 wickets in 93 T20 matches. In IPL, Rashid Khan has been playing for Gujarat Titans captained by Shubman Gill. He was recently featured for Afghanistan during the South Africa ODI series where they won a maiden ODI series against Proteas.
