Indian cricketers Nitish Rana and Ayush Badoni got into a furious argument during Delhi vs Uttar Pradesh (UP) in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024–25 quarterfinal, on December 11 (Wednesday). On the third delivery of the thirteenth over in the first innings of the game, Delhi skipper Ayush Badoni was spotted taking a fast single against Nitish Rana.
The UP all-rounder charged at him after the run was over and spoke a few words. As the two became embroiled in a violent argument, Badoni also struck back. The umpires had to step in and separate the two players who confronted one other since their relationship was getting heated.

Talking about the game which took place at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Uttar Pradesh captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the toss and asked Delhi to bat first. The Delhi openers Priyansh Arya (44 off 31) and Yash Dhull (42 off 34), who put up 81 runs for the first wicket off 61 balls, gladly accepted the invitation.
Captain Ayush Badoni and Anuj Rawat came to the crease after Nitish Rana (1/23, 3 overs) and Mohsin Khan dismissed Arya and Dhull in consecutive overs. Delhi's score surpassed 160 thanks to the pair's explosive 77 runs for the fourth wicket off 39 balls. Rawat scored a scorching undefeated 73* from 33 balls, smashing seven fours and five sixes, while Badoni was out for 25 (18).
Delhi amassed an incredible 193/3 in their allocated 20 overs thanks to his knock. Because of Priyam Garg's 54 (34) to keep them in the hunt, UP lost wickets at frequent intervals during their pursuit.
