HCA suspended president, secretary and treasurer for charges of fraud, cheating and misappropriation of funds.

The Hyderabad Cricket Association Apex Council has suspended the president, A. Jagan Mohan Rao,  R. Devraj (secretary) and C.J. Srinivas Rao (treasurer) with immediate effect after an emergency meeting on Thursday. The trio was suspended as per Rules 41(6) and 15(4)(d) of the HCA’s Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations (2018) following charges of fraud, cheating and misappropriation of funds.

The HCA release said that the action was against the three for "serious charges involving fraud, cheating, misappropriation of funds, and abuse of official position". Investigating agencies like CID and ED are investigating the allegations.

"The Hyderabad Cricket Association remains committed to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability. This decision has been taken in the larger interest of safeguarding the association's credibility and ensuring that due process is followed in a fair and impartial manner," the release said.

Earlier this month, the Crime Investigation Department (CID)  arrested five people, including Jagan Mohan, Srinivas and CEO Suneel Kante, and a case was registered against them under Sections 465 (punishment for forgery), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document or electronic record), 403 (dishonest misappropriation of property), 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant, or by banker, merchant or agent), 420 (cheating) read with 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

In the absence of the president, secretary and treasurer, vice-president Daljeet Singh is discharging duties as acting president.
