A video of Kohli’s holiday has gone viral, showing the couple exploring London as ordinary citizens, away from the intense fanfare they experience in India. The video captures Kohli and Anushka chatting and sharing a light-hearted moment with locals who appear to have recognised them.
While in London, Kohli has been away from the cricket field. He did not participate in the recently concluded five-match Test series against England after announcing his retirement from the longest format of the game in May. After concluding his season with RCB in the 2025 Indian Premier League, Virat Kohli has been spending quality family time in London. This extended break has allowed him to be with his children before he resumes his commitment to international cricket.
Kohli ended his illustrious Test career with 9,230 runs from 123 matches at an average of 46.85, which included 30 centuries and 31 half-centuries. Virat Kohli also left his mark on the record books as a captain, leading India to 40 victories in the 68 Test matches he skippered, making him the country’s most successful Test captain. This retirement from Tests followed his earlier decision to retire from T20Is after India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. In that final match against South Africa, he delivered a match-winning innings of 76 off 59 balls and was named Player of the Match.
Although he has retired from both T20I and Test cricket, Kohli continues to be an integral part of India’s ODI team. His last appearance for the national squad was in the Champions Trophy Final, where the "Men in Blue" emerged victorious against New Zealand to clinch the title. His next appearance for India in the 50-over format is scheduled for October against Australia. In that series, he will reunite with captain Rohit Sharma, who has also retired from Tests and T20Is.
