Delhi women’s cricketer Medhavi Bidhuri first popularized it in the Women’s Delhi Premier League 2026. The 20-year-old Bidhuri, a right-arm leg-spinner, introduced the move after taking a wicket for Central Delhi Queens. It stems from her jersey number 67; she had wanted number 12, but her younger sister suggested 67 instead, turning it into her signature celebration.

Chahal later shared a short video montage of the moment on X (formerly Twitter), captioning it simply “6 7 ”.  The clip, which blends his on-field celebration with Bidhuri’s original, quickly gained traction among fans, and it is now something everyone has been talking about.
