T20 World Cup 2026: Justin Mosca, Anthony Mosca create history becoming first sibling pair to reach this milestone

Italy’s Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca made history during their T20 World Cup 2026 match against Nepal at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The two brothers became the first siblings ever to score half-centuries in the same T20 World Cup match. Justin led the chase with 60 runs off 44 balls, while Anthony played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 62 from just 32 deliveries.

Chasing a target of 124 in Match No. 17 of the tournament, the Mosca brothers stitched together an unbeaten 124-run partnership in just 12.4 overs. Their stand helped Italy seal a dominant 10-wicket win over Nepal.

In past T20 World Cups, there have been other famous cricketing brothers who scored fifties, Pakistan’s Kamran and Umar Akmal, and Australia’s David and Michael Hussey. However, none of them managed to reach the milestone in the same match like the Mosca brothers did.

Italy vs Nepal match report

Italy’s openers Justin and Anthony Mosca delivered a calm and confident performance as the tournament debutants stunned Nepal with a dominant 10-wicket win on Thursday, registering their first-ever T20 World Cup victory.

Justin remained unbeaten on 60 from 44 balls, while Anthony smashed 62 not out off just 32 deliveries. The brothers put together an unbroken 124-run stand and chased down Nepal’s total of 123 comfortably in only 12.4 overs.

Earlier, while bowling, Italy spinners played a crucial role in the win with a disciplined bowling effort. They kept things tight and bowled consistent lines and lengths to bowl Nepal out for 123 in 19.3 overs.

Ben Manenti was particularly impressive, finishing with figures of 2 for 9, while Crishan Kalugamage picked up 3 for 18. The spin duo applied constant pressure and never allowed Nepal’s batters to settle.

Nepal, who had pushed England to the brink in their previous game before losing by just four runs, couldn’t find any rhythm this time. They struggled to score freely and kept losing wickets at regular intervals, which meant they were unable to build any meaningful partnerships.
