USA's Mohsin rues losing to India after a stellar show in first 15 overs.

USA all-rounder Mohammad Mohsin has said that Salman Agha's Pakistan will be under pressure in their T20 World Cup 2026 clash. USA gave India a scare by forcing a collapse with the new ball. Now, they travel to Sri Lanka to face Pakistan. Mohsin feels that things will get better in the next game.

“Against Pakistan, because we have beaten them once, I think the pressure is all on them. Anyway, we don’t have anything to lose in this World Cup. We are just enjoying our journey. And I think the way it started, it seems to be an exciting one. And hopefully, tomorrow’s game is going to be even better,” Mohsin said in the pre-game press conference.

The last time USA faced Pakistan was in the T20 World Cup 2024. USA stunned Pakistan, beating them in the super over.

Mohsin rues loss to India

Mohsin also talked about the loss to India at Wankhede Stadium. While it was their bowlers who pushed India on the back foot, Mohsin feels that it is their batting department which is strong.

“I think it was a tough loss, especially from where the game was after the first 15 overs. But we only discussed the positives that we gained from the last game. Even though we ended up losing, but we gained a lot of confidence, especially as a bowling unit. In the practise games, as a bowling unit, we struggled a bit. Batting is our strong core, but that last game has given us a lot of confidence. And I think you will see in the future games, we as a bowling group will be doing better and better every game,” Mohsin said.

Mohsin familiar with Pakistan players

Peshawar-born Mohsin has played age-group cricket and first-class cricket in Pakistan. He is no stranger to the players in the current Pakistan team. While he has experience of playing against Pakistan players, he lauded the USA team analysts and coaching staff for their valuable inputs.

“I have played against almost all of the squads that Pakistan has right now. And whatever inputs I know, like the guys I have played with, or I know about, I do put in the team meetings. But I think our team analysts and the coaches have done a lot of great work. They have shown us a lot of analytics about the players. And wherever I can chip in, I do chip in,” he said.

While USA were impressive against India, Pakistan had a scare against Netherlands. Chasing 148, they were struggling in the slog overs before Faheem Ashraf rescued them with a cameo.
