Jaiswal fires back at commentator, recieves ICC sanction & kicks up a storm

The recent incident involving a 25% match fee fine imposed on Yashasvi Jaiswal and Asitha Fernando has led to divided opinions among fans and experts alike. While some argue the punishment is fair given the aggressive actions on the field, others feel it’s unjust, especially considering the nature and intent behind each player's behavior. The fine was issued due to inappropriate physical contact during the game, a breach categorized under levels one and two according to the regulations. This penalty raised questions about consistency since other players have received different punishments for seemingly worse offenses.

Jaiswal is at the centre of a major controversy after his heated altercation with Sri Lanka pacer Asitha Fernando in the Colombo Test. The ICC has fined both players 25% of their match fee and handed them one demerit point each for inappropriate physical contact.

The debate intensified after commentator Harsha Bhogle said Jaiswal should have walked away. Jaiswal fired back on social media, saying: “If you don't know what he said, don't make your judgment. This India will fight and reply.”
