PCB asks players not to comment on Imran Khan's imprisonment during England tour

The Pakistan Cricket Board has asked its players to refrain from commenting on Imran Khan's imprisonment while participating in the ongoing Test series against England.

This directive comes amid heightened sensitivity following a Sky Sports interview featuring Imran Khan's sons, which garnered significant international attention. Head coach Sarfraz Ahmad clarified in a press conference that the players were unaware of the interview as they were having lunch at the time. Furthermore, reports suggesting that the PCB threatened to suspend the team's participation if the interview aired were denied by the coach, emphasizing the players' lack of knowledge regarding the broadcast.

The interview intensified global focus on Imran Khan's health and conditions during his incarceration at Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, following corruption convictions. Several international cricketers have expressed concern for his wellbeing, calling for better healthcare provisions. Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad also publicly urged for Imran's release, praising his integrity and character.
