Delhi Capitals produced a strong all-round performance to continue their impressive run in the Women’s Premier League, reaching their fourth straight final with a convincing seven-wicket victory over Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator.
After winning the toss, Delhi chose to bowl first and their decision paid off as the bowlers kept Gujarat to 168 for seven. The Capitals then made light work of the chase, finishing the job in just 15.4 overs.
Delhi Capitals Chase
Delhi’s chase began explosively, thanks to openers Shafali Verma and Lizelle Lee. The pair went after the Gujarat bowlers right from the start, taking full advantage of the powerplay. Shafali smashed 31 runs off just 21 balls, while Lee played fluently for her 43 off 24 deliveries. Together, they added 89 runs without losing a wicket, hitting 15 boundaries and a six, and quickly took the game away from Gujarat.

Just when it seemed the match was slipping completely out of reach, leg-spinner Georgia Wareham provided Gujarat with a brief moment of hope. She removed both openers in the same over, finishing with figures of 2 for 28.
However, the breakthrough did little to slow Delhi down. Laura Wolvaardt and captain Jemimah Rodrigues calmly took control of the innings. Wolvaardt remained unbeaten on 32, while Jemimah scored a composed 41. The duo played sensibly at first and then found the boundaries regularly to keep the chase firmly on track. Experienced all-rounder Marizanne Kapp eventually hit the winning runs as Delhi sealed a dominant win and booked a final clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday.
Gujarat Titans batting
Earlier, Gujarat Giants were led by a steady knock from Beth Mooney, who held the innings together with an unbeaten 62 off 51 balls, including six boundaries. Gujarat found themselves under pressure early after losing key wickets, but Mooney stayed calm at one end.
She received valuable support from Wareham, who scored a quick 35 as the pair added 61 runs for the fifth wicket. Mooney later put on another useful stand with Kashvee Gautam, who contributed 18 runs.
Delhi’s bowlers set the tone early, with Chinelle Henry picking up three wickets, including the dismissal of Sophie Devine. Nandini Sharma made an immediate impact by removing Anushka Sharma and Gujarat captain Ashleigh Gardner in successive deliveries.
The spinners then tightened the screws, with Minnu Mani and Sneh Rana keeping things quiet through the middle overs. Gujarat managed a late push as Mooney and Kashvee found some boundaries towards the end, but it was not enough to challenge a confident Delhi side.
