India's Pratika Rawal creates history, becomes fastest batter in Women's ODI cricket history to bag this big milestone

Pratika Rawal played a brilliant knock to give India women a solid start in the second match of the tri-series against South Africa at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Pratika Rawal scored 78 runs off 91 balls riding on seven boundaries and one six to help India post a total of 276/6. Pratika's start to her Women's ODI career has been exceptional, having already accumulated 574 runs in just eight matches. Notably, with this performance, she has now become the fastest batter in the history of Women's ODI cricket to reach the milestone of 500 runs. She surpassed the previous record held by England's Charlotte Edwards, who achieved 500 ODI runs in nine innings

In her initial six Women's ODI innings, Pratika Rawal has impressively accumulated 444 runs. This remarkable feat makes her the first cricketer, male or female, to surpass 400 runs within their first six innings in this format. The previous highest aggregate after six ODI innings was held by Netherlands' Tom Cooper, who had scored 392 runs. Among women cricketers, the record for the most runs after her first six innings was previously held by Thailand's Natthakan Chantham, who had scored 322 runs.

Pratika Rawal's accomplishments extend to individual scoring records as well. She currently holds the record of having scored the third-highest individual innings by an Indian woman in the entire history of Women's One Day Internationals.
