Manchester United's midfield stalwart Casemiro scored a brilliant header to give Manchester United the lead in the final of the Carabao Cup against Newcastle United at Wembley in London on Sunday (February 26) night. It was the first of United's two goals, as the Red Devils ended their long trophy drought of over five years.

Despite the win and being in full spirits, there was a small moment of disagreement between Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes, in relation to a move in the final minutes of the match. In the video, Fernandes is seen in celebrations with Scott McTominay, which is interrupted by the Brazilian midfielder demanding an explanation for why the Portuguese player chose not to pass him the ball in Newcastle United's final third despite both players being open.

The move in question came in the dying minutes of the match when the playmaker had a clear run on goal but chose to take the shot instead of passing the ball to Casemiro, who was free. The final effort was eventually saved by Newcastle goalkeeper Loris Karius and the whistle to signal the end of the match was blown minutes later.

Casemiro was eager to point out that he was in a better position to score United's third goal if a pass had been rolled in his direction.

However, the mini argument did not dampen the mood in the camp, as the side won their first trophy since 2017 when they won the Carabao Cup and the Europa League under the management of Jose Mourinho.

Speaking after the match, Fernandes was confident that this was just the start of a bright future for the English giants. "It's an amazing feeling obviously, we've been searching for this moment – us, the players and the club, all together," the midfielder told Sky Sports.

"We finally got our trophy, I think deservedly. It's all about winning trophies, and finally we did it. I'm satisfied because finally I have a trophy, but I want more. It's been an amazing period obviously, it's the first trophy of the season… but we want more. This is not enough for this club. We want more and we need more, for our standards, we need more," he added.
