Colombia tops group after goalless draw with Portugal; both qualify for World Cup round of 32

It was another frustrating game for Cristiano Ronaldo’s side. In a tense Group stage encounter at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Colombia and Portugal played out a 0-0 draw that saw the South Americans finish top of their group and advance to the Round of 32, with Portugal qualifying comfortably in second place.

The match was marked by defensive discipline from both sides, with few clear-cut chances. Colombia were widely regarded as the better team for large periods, controlling possession and creating pressure, while Portugal sat deeper and looked to counter.
