Manchester City superstar striker Erling Haaland has reacted on social media after smashing his 100th Premier League goal. The Norwegian player reached the milestone in 111 games, breaking Hall of Famer Alan Shearer's record as the fastest to achieve it, set at 124 matches.
Haaland has now taken to X(previously known as Twitter) to send a message to his fans. He shared a photo of his celebration and the shot that got converted into the goal and captioned it:
"When football takes you to places you could never have imagined… 💯🙏🏻"
The Manchester City player also spoke to the Club's media team following the 5-4 win and said:
"Scoring 100 Premier League goals is something I am really proud of. Everyone knows the Premier League is the most difficult in world football. The quality of the teams in this division is amazing and there are a lot of quality defenders. To score 100 in English football is something special for me."
"I love scoring goals and I want to keep experiencing it because there is nothing better. All I want to do is help the team win. Manchester City means everything to me, and my team-mates are the best. I know when I score, we have a better chance of winning, that's why every single goal means to much to me. I want to thank everyone at City because without them I would not have scored this many goals."
Erling Haaland has scored against all 23 teams he has faced in the Premier League in his career. Manchester City will lock horns with Sunderland next in the league and it will be the first time the Norwegian has faced the Black Cats in the top flight.
Pep Guardiola appreciates Erling Haaland for breaking another record in Premier League
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has appreciated Erling Haaland after he broke Alan Shearer's record. He said that the feat was unimaginable when the striker joined the club and said:
"When Erling arrived, if you had told me he would score 100 goals in 111 games, I would say: 'Are you sure?' The numbers are insane. Insane. Erling is one of the best, his numbers are incredible and what he has done is amazing."
Erling Haaland has amassed 15 goals in 14 games for Manchester City this season in the Premier League. He is four clear of second-placed, Igor Thiago of Brentford, who face the league leaders Arsenal on Wednesday, December 3.
