Erling Haaland has solidified his place among football's elite since his move to Manchester City in 2022 for a remarkable €60 million (£51.2 million or approximately $66.2 million). Making an instant impact, the Norwegian striker achieved milestones with breathtaking speed. Notably, on August 27 2022, he netted his first Premier League hat-trick in a 4–2 victory against Crystal Palace.

Just days later, he followed it with a perfect hat-trick in a 6–0 triumph over Nottingham Forest, becoming the fastest player in Premier League history to score two hat-tricks. Since then, Haaland has accumulated two Premier League titles, a Champions League, an FA Cup, a Community Shield, and a UEFA Super Cup. The announcement of Haaland’s 10-year contract extension has generated waves of excitement within Manchester City and its fanbase. Initially signed until 2027, Haaland’s new deal of £260 million, equivalent to $317 million, now extends his stay until 2034. Guardiola expressed his delight, stating that it was incredible news for the team.

"It’s exceptional news for all of us for the club. When one player decides to sign this type of contract, never done before, it’s because he wants to show how desperate he is to be here. He loves the club, the people, the Premier League, and being here with his family. He is one of the finest strikers in world football, but Erling is still very young and will only continue to improve, " said Guardiola." he said.

 

 

Since joining from Borussia Dortmund, Haaland has redefined the striker role with his unmatched goal-scoring prowess, amassing an extraordinary 111 goals in 126 appearances. Guardiola highlighted how this deal reflects Haaland’s love for the club and its environment.
