In the intense rivalry between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, even the most talented players show respect, and sometimes a bit of playful fear, when discussing their opponents.
FC Barcelona midfielder Pedri opened up about facing one particular Real Madrid star in a speed duel. His response has now been making rounds on the internet, and it's something the Los Blancos fans might already know.
FC Barcelona's Pedri admits he prays when facing THIS Real Madrid star
In a recent interview on the Spanish TV show El Hormiguero alongside teammate Ferran Torres, Pedri was asked about players he wouldn't want to face in a speed duel. He humorously confessed that he's "a bit slow" and named Kylian Mbappe and Vinícius Júnior as the top ones.
The Barca star specially singled out the Brazilian and said:
“Yes, when the ball reaches Vinícius Júnior, all you can do is pray. He runs three times faster than me.”
Vinicius continues to be one of the most talked-about talents in world football. Known for his blistering pace, silky dribbling, technical flair, and fearless attitude on the pitch, the Real Madrid winger has transformed from a promising star into a proven match-winner and leader.
On the other hand, the Barcelona midfielder has recently returned to action after a month-long absence due to a hamstring injury. He was named on the bench for the club's La Liga game against Levante, marking his return to the squad after being sidelined for about a month. He came on in the 66th minute to a standing ovation from the Camp Nou.
