Former Chelsea attacker Nkunku reacted to Blues striker Pedro Neto's hat-trick in the 4-0 FA Cup fourth-round win at Hull City on Friday, February 13. Nkunku moved to AC Milan last summer after two seasons at Stamford Bridge.

First hat-trick for Pedro Neto

The 25-year-old striker started the scoring at the MKM Stadium after 40 minutes as the visitors led at the break. The Portugal international extended his team's lead six minutes into the second half.

After Estevao made it 3-0 for the Blues on the cusp of hour mark, Neto completed his first senior hat-trick 19 minutes from time to claim a dominant win for Liam Rosenoir's side. Having assisted Neto's  first and third goals and Estevao's effort, Liam Delap dropped a hat-trick of assists.

After the match, Neto shared an image of himself with the match ball on his official Instagram handle, to which Nkunku - who scored 18 goals in 62 matches for Chelsea - reacted with two fire emojis.

With his three-goal on Friday, Neto has now reached 10 goals and four assists in 38 games for Chelsea across all competitions, consisting of five strikes and three assists in 26 games in the Premier League, where the Blues are fifth after 26 games.

Chelsea boss reacts to win over Hull City

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior was happy with his team's comfortable FA Cup fourth-round victory over Hull City on Friday at the MKM Stadium.

The English man claimed that there is scope for improvement but was happy with various aspects of his team's play, especially their blistering start, finishing the game as a contest.

"I was delighted with the players' application and attitude in the first half," Rosenoir told BBC Sport.

 

 

"It was a difficult game. We've had some good 90 minutes. Obviously, you want every minute of every game to be perfect. There is a lot of things we can improve, but in terms of our start together, I am delighted with it.

 

 

The Blues boss lavished praise on Pedro Neto for his hattrick:

"Pedro Neto has been outstanding. He works so hard and he has so much quality. I am delighted to see him get the goals he got. Everyone worked really, really hard for each other.

 

 

"The most pleasing aspect was the mentality. They were a credit to the club. It was a really strong performance in terms of the mental application you need to be successful."

 

 

Chelsea face Burnley at home in the Premier League next Saturday, February 21 before travelling to leaders Arsenal eight days later.
