Erling Haaland is not happy and is fuming just like everyone related to Manchester City. The Sky Blues superstar called his team's shock loss to Norwegian underdogs Bodø/Glimt on Tuesday "embarrassing" at the UEFA Champions League.
City are coming off a 3-1 loss, which was an unexpected defeat, while Pep Guardiola’s side were the heavy favourites as the UCL resumed. It was just three days after City’s 2-0 loss against rivals Manchester United in the Manchester Derby in the Premier League.
Haaland blasts 'embarrassing' Man City collapse in 3-1 shock defeat
Speaking to TNT Sports after the UCL match loss, Haaland was left without any answers. The player took the responsibility for the loss and apologised to the fans for not scoring. He said:
"I don't have the answers. I take full responsibility of not being able to score the goals I should do.”
The Man City striker continued:
"I just apologize to everyone; every single Man City supporter and every single supporter that traveled today, because in the end it's embarrassing.”
Haalans went on to appreciate the opponents' play and stated that Bodo played outstandingly, after which they deserved the victory. The 25-year-old was without any answers and said that the only thing he could reply to the loss was to apologise.
Meanwhile, Guardiola’s squad has managed to win just two games of their last seven matches in all competitions. They are currently second in the EPL following table toppers Arsenal. City is set to play Wolverhampton next in the Premier League competition before facing Galatasaray in the UCL.
