Kylian Mbappe is one of the most celebrated players in football. However, the French captain has revealed that he would not want his kid to pursue the sport. The 26-year-old recently, in a conversation with L’Equipe’s magazine stated how dark the football world can be.
Kylian Mbappe would never want his child to be ‘involved in football’
Mbappe had filed a criminal complaint against his former team, Paris Saint-Germain, for alleged harassment and attempted extortion. The La Liga forward departed from the Ligue 1 side in 2024 and joined Real Madrid on a free transfer. Mbappe had a controversial departure from PSG after which he finally managed to join the 15-time UCL champions following years of speculation.
The Real Madrid striker believes that the fans are lucky they are unaware of what happens behind the scenes. During a conversation with the aforementioned French newspaper, he stated, “I'm fatalistic about the world of football.”
Further stating that “life is beautiful” he doesn't feel the same about football. “Football is what it is.” He continued, “I like to say that people who go to the stadium are lucky to 'just' come and watch a show, and not know what's going on behind the scenes.”
Mbappe also expressed his disappointment towards the reality of the football World. He said, “Honestly, if I didn't have this passion, the world of football would have disgusted me a long time ago.” The French captain doesn't want his kid to get into football. “I would never advise my child to get involved in football.”
On Tuesday, September 9, Mbappe netted one and assisted one to power the hosts to make a comeback and claim a 2-1 victory against Iceland. Following this, he became the country's all-time leading goalscorer surpassing Thierry Henry. The World Cup winner would now return to Madrid for his club’s fixture against Real Sociedad this weekend.
