There have already been talks on Xabi Alonso’s mid-season sacking following Real Madrid’s struggling form. The Whites are coming off a 0-2 loss against Celta Vigo in La Liga and are scheduled for an important UEFA Champions League clash against Manchester City. 

At the Spanish club where the competition is high, the expectations are steep, and patience is limited. The club’s recent disappointing performances have triggered news that the former Liverpool midfielder’s job is on the line. Following the rumors, the Los Blancos head coach has finally stepped up to speak on his dismissal talks. 

Real Madrid’s Xabi Alonso breaks silence on dismissal talks ahead of Man City clash 

When asked about rhe rumors of getting sacked, Alonso said: 

“I'm not thinking of that. I’m thinking of Real Madrid vs Man City”.

The 44-year-old head coach further said: 

“I'm just thinking of Wednesday's game. We're all UNITED, all together”.

Amid all the struggles and frustrations, the Spanish giants received another unfortunate injury news in the back line as they lost Eder Militao for two to three months ahead of the important clash against the Premier League side. 

The centre-back injured his thighs on Sunday during Madrid’s 0-2 loss against Vigo in the league. It is now expected that Miliato will return for teh side in 2026.
